The old perceptions of conflict as COMBAT only narrows our vision, limits our choices,and pulls us into endless struggles between competing polarities.

The Tao Te CHING teaches us:

“There is no greater disaster
than enemy making
For then you lose your treasure,
your peace.
When conflict arises,
Compassion always Prevails.”

TAO 69

Making enemies gives away our power, keeps us from taking responsibility for our lives. Instead of resolving conflict, we focus our attention on fearing, hating and lashing out at perceived “enemies”.

Enemy making happens on all levels from the interpersonal to the international.

But it puts us into the realm of the INTERNET! The ultimate gossipy BACK FENCE of the universe, where it seems that drunken fishwives do nothing but talk crap which travels around the globe at the speed of light in indelable ink, whether it is true or not.

Years ago I had a radio job on a national network. I finally had to quit as they weren’t PAYING ME, even though I had a six year contract, and the owner of the network decided to hire this violent, fat, drunk, campus security guard to do nothing but be my own personal demon troll, and do nothing but lie and talk crap about me, not bothering if any of it was true or not. Cuz again, on the internet there is no accountability.

I actually sued this clown, who never used the TRUTH as his defense and said, “Well…UM….SEAN DAVID MORTON is FAMOUS…so he is like the PRESIDENT…so I can say anything about him that I want!” THAT was his defense. And the Judge, literally said, “Ahh…What’s the INTERNET? Since it’s not PRINT like a newspaper, I will dismiss the case!” THAT was how long ago this was…but it continues to this day and this person still lies and lies and lies, about me and everyone else in the spiritual field, and the evolved people just take it. And what pisses him off the most is that I just keep on keeping on with my life and what I DO, totally ignoring him, which I am sure drives him insane. Someday I will meet him and hit him with PIE or something and laugh and laugh….

So how do you live your life doing nothing put working for the ENLIGHTENMENT of ALL SENTIENT BEINGS and wind up doing nothing but trying to help people…AAAAAND wind up smeared, slandered, libeled, and ultimate in JAIL for doing so! ALL for standing up for what you believe in.

But our RESPONSE to conflict determines the SHAPE of our FUTURE! If we define conflict as COMBAT, we produce VIOLENCE. If we react with fear, we paralyze ourselves or retreat into rigidity and defensiveness. Our challenge is to see conflict without narrowing our VISION, to remain flexible, open to many options.

The TAO reminds us that:

“All green plants are tender and yielding.
At death they are brittle and dry.
When hard and rigid,
We consort with death.
When soft and flexible,
We affirm greater life!”
TAO 76

How can we respond to conflict like the Tao itself, combining all elements into creative patterns of renewal? That is our QUEST as we learn to AFFIRM, SEEK GREATER CLARITY and PRACTICE the politics of nonviolence.

Courageous people over the years have practiced non-violent action, using compassion and concern FOR TRUTH to neutralize the cycles of violence and social injustice. Which is even HARDER when the MEDIA props up nothing but LIES and GLORIFIES those who use VIOLENCE to enforce their fascist totalitarian agendas. I would love to see some MERRY PRANKSTERS at these ANTI-GUN rallies carry signs that say “PUNISH THE INNOCENT! WE HATE FREEDOM! WE WANT TO BE DEFENSELESS BEFORE TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENTS!” Or just once at a PLANNED PARENT HOOD RALLY with a banner that says, “WE HATE BABIES! CHILDREN SUCK!” Or am I losing my audience here? haha!

Protesting against UNJUST LAWS, and helping and supporting those who have been unjustly and illegally imprisoned, as the President keeps telling us it is, we AFFIRM the ONENESS of ALL HUMAN EXPERIENCE, those who practice the politics of Wu Wei demonstrate these important lessons of the TAO: 1. CLARITY 2. COMPASSION and 3. A VISION OF ONENESS. the results of their actions affirm the POWER OF MORAL LEADERSHIP.

My poor, ailing long suffering wife Melissa, who deserves NONE of what is happening to her, was pushing a book cart and putting BOOKS aways in her prison library, when a book literally fell off the cart and jumped up and “bit her”. It was called the KYBALION.

She sent me a quote from it:

“A glance back over the pages of history will show the wisdom of the MASTERS, who knew the folly of attempting to teach to the world that which it was neither READY or WILLING to recieve.” The Hermetics have NEVER sought to be martyrs, and have, instead, sat silently aside with a pitying smile on their closed lips, while the “heathen raged about them” in their customary amusement of putting to death and torture and IMPRISONMENT the honest but misguided enthusiasts who imagined that they could force upon a race of barbarians the truth capable of being understood only by the ELECT who had advanced along the PATH.”

ULTIMATELY, as I have said over and over again in all of my lectures over the years, the HUNDREDTH MONKEY theory is a MYTH! It goes that when ONE monkey on an island washes his potato, another monkey sees him do it, copies him, then ALL the monkeys do it, and and that IDEA and practice JUMPS…MAGICALLY from ISLAND TO ISLAND with no connection…and then ALL the monkeys are washing their potatoes. This is all a TOTAL LIE!

IN REAL LIFE…one monkey washes his potato and the HEAD of the DIRTY POTATO monkeys sees this as a THREAT to his way of life and control…and those monkys beat him with sticks tell he is DEAD!

BUT…When the WHOLE PLANET EVOLVES, an IDEA whose time has come cannot be STOPPED, and ALL the MONKEYS ALL start just washing their potatoes at the same time! YAY!!!!

So in closing with all of this…I fully expected what was happening to me to happen. I was warned by an Indian NADI LEAF reading back when I was 28 years old…and in all my PAST LIFE work that the forces of EVIL and BLACK MAGIC would win out for a brief period of time.

But I have STOOD MY GROUND, DONE what I BELIEVE IN, and in the END, never give up, and never surrendering is all that matters.
